HANDMADE WEDDING SHAKER CARD - IINSTRUCTIONS on how to make your own Acetate and shaker Cards.

Just playing around with my supplies and thought Ive never seen a  wedding shaker card before so, thought i would give one a go and this is what i ended with.

The card has been embossed using the Big Shot, and a 5" x 7" embossing folder.
The Centre of the embossed card has been removed to make way for the shaker viewing part of the card.  A craft stanley knife was used.

DO YOU MAKE YOUR OWN ACETATE ?
Acetate can be hard to come by at times and not many places stock it.  I now make my own
Simply using a Laminating Machine and A4 laminating pouches.  I run
the pouch through the heated laminater twice and there you have it your own Acetate.

If you are wanting a thicker Acetate that will stand up for pop ups etc, its simple.
Just put a laminating pouch inside of another pouch and put through the heated laminater twice.

To make your shaker:
Simply fold your ready made Acetate in half, cut the folded acetate  to fit inside the card front, I recommend cutting it 1/4" shorter on 3 of the sides.  Place your shaker items inside of the cut down acetate and seal it on the side and bottom.  To secure the shaker card, i use red sticky, its double sided and the strongest of tapes and not likely to come unstuck.  If using glitter in your shaker card, now is the time to put it inside the acetate shaker before sealing it.

To complete the card:
Once the shaker is made, its now time to place it inside the card.  I have place red sticky on the front of the shaker on all four sides, peeled off the backing tape and placed it inside the card.
To finish off the card i have lined the inside of the card to cover the mechanics of the shaker card and to give a backing to make the shaker more prominent.
Enjoy I hope these instructions have inspired you to create your own.

MIXED MEDIA CARDMAKING WITH CLOSE TO MY HEART - CTMH PRODUCTS - HAPPY MOTHERS DAY CARDS - CRICUT CUT STENCILS

Happy Mother's Day everyone.  Here's the card i made to give my mum today.
Im just loving incorporating mixed media with my Close To My Heart Products.  Above I started with our basic white card from our White Value Pack of cards and envelopes.  So that the card held the weight of the mixed media, I layered it with 2 layers of alternative colours in this instance i used Kraft and Glacier so the colours would co ordinate with the papers.  The final layer of paper is our new limited release Blossoms Paper Packet
(Comes with Card stock which you can use as your base layering).
Next - I needed to cut out my stencil. Using my Cricut Expressions 2 and Close To My Heart - CTMH Artbooking Cricut collections cardtridge  I chose the arrow stencil to place over my Blossoms paper and covered it in home made texture paint and then set it aside to dry.
Next came time to cut out my Cricut Die Cut roses.  Using Close To My Heart Artiste and Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridges I cut out an assortment of cricut  cut roses in different shapes. Rolled them and adhered them with ctmh liquid glass.  I also cut out the stamp shape with the Art Philosophy cartridge.  Close to My Heart have a huge range of charms from our Base N Bling range and i have chosen a few to accent the card.  I filled some of CTMH Spray pens with water and Reinkers in selected colours to match the Blossoms paper, colours used are Pear, Sorbet and Glacier.
Before placing the flowers and charms  I stamped the Die Cut chip board shape with the Co Ordinating Mum stamp from the gorgeous Flowers for Mum stamp set, still available while stocks last.  All flowers and charms were coloured before attaching them to the shape.  The texture paste should be dried by now and you can paint on your choice of colours from the reinkers without diluting them.

MIXED MEDIA WITH CLOSE TO MY HEART - CTMH PRODUCTS AND CRICUT ART PHILOSOPHY AND ARTBOOKING - FREE RECIPES

Did you know that Mixed Media Projects goes hand in hand with Close To My Heart ?
If you love Scrapbooking, Cardmaking
and 3D projects, then why not incorporate mixed media into them.
Below are some simple recipes to help get you started and to save you plenty
of money along the way.

CTMH - Close To My heart have 40 different coloured ink refillers.

Using a spritzer bottle or our fabulous SPRAY PENS  and Re Inkers
mix the colour of choice and water together in the spray pens to create
a Ink spritzer.  When using our spray pens put 3 drops of ink in the spray pen, fill
with water and mix well.  If using larger bottles, 100ml spray bottles, I add
20 drops of ink refiller in each bottle.  I like a rich colour, if you prefer
a more water colour look use less drops of your Re Inker.
TIP:  Label your Spray Pen with the name of the colour because once they mixed in the water
its quite difficult to identify the colour.

Do you make your own Stencils ?

Using your very Own Close To My Heart Cricut Cartridges and Cricut Machine
you can make your own Mixed Media stencils.
Here's how !!!!!!!!!!!!

Using 2 laminating pouches, put one inside the other and put through a laminating machine.
This will create a very thick plastic.  Adhere the double laminated pouches to a new or near
new 12 x 12 Cricut Mat.  I used my Artbooking Cricut collection cartridge to cut out these stencils.

In my creation below, i have used our rolled paper roses which i used the Close To My Heart
Cricut Collection Art Philosophy to cut out the roses and letters.  I encorporated CTMH Base N Bling Charms, Embellishments and assortments, Heart strings paper packet. Ivy Lane assortments and much more.  Mixed media is a great way of using up all your odd bits and bobs, scraps of paper, especially when you hate to throw any out.
