CARDS FOR AUSTRALIAN/AUSSIE TROOPS - FREE CARDMAKING DAY WITH CLOSE TO MY HEART TRACEY RAY
Cards for Australian Troops is holding a FREE Card making Day Cardiff RSL Club Sunday 29th March 10am - 5pm. Cardiff RSL has donated the room for us to create Mothers Day Cards for aussie troops. I would like to invite you all to come along and join in the spirit, there will be lucky door prizes and games throughout the day, loads of cards to create, you don't have to be a card maker or even creative because we will have packs of cards for you to assemble with the first card already made and enough supplies to make 9 more the same. The club has coffee facilities and an all you can eat buffett lunch or you can order a lunch. The day is FREE of charge to come along all you need to do is bring along your adhesives or any supplies you might think you may need, your inky fingers and a smile. The final count for the card tally will be done and all of the cards will be enveloped up and international declarations for postage. Hope you can make it and see you there on the day. Well im not much of a scrapbooker, Ill be honest and there are some beautiful scrapbookers out there.
But it sure is made a lot easier with the Close To My Heart Cricut Cartridge "Art Philosophy".
The papers and the chip board were all cut out using the Art Philosophy cartridge and all i did was add the photo. How cool was that.

CARDS FOR AUSSIE TROOPS FREE CARDMAKING DAY - MARCH 29th 2015

TIME: 10am - 5pm
Come along to a FREE day of cardmaking at Cardiff RSL Club to help make Mother's Day Cards for our Australian Troops. Bring along your cardmaking supplies and help support this worthwhile cause. There will be some packs to that you can make up if you dont have any supplies but would still like to share in the day. If you cant make it on the day, please help and support by sharing the event on your facebook page.
There will be lucky door prizes and give aways on the day. Plus a limited amount of products available for use and purchase
Entry: Bring along a plate or biscuits for morning and afternoon tea.
There will be tea and coffee along with regular club facilities for drinks etc. Plus Cardiff RSL have their all you can eat buffet restaurant for lunch and we may like to stay for dinner as well.
Bring along some friends and share in the day.
There will also be FREE Cricut expression demonstrations and die cutting demonstrations.
We are hoping to achieve 1,000+ to be made on the day, plus all cards will be bundled up and packaged off to Afghanistan for our troops to use to send home to their mums for mothers day. Be there and see for the final tally count for this years mothers day collection.

HEAT EMBOSSING CARD WITH CLOSE TO MY HEART CHOOSE HAPPY AUSTRALASIAN BLOG HOP

From the moment I saw this stamp set, this card immediately sprang into my mind.
You know when you just need to make that quick and simple card that's yet elegant, well this one is it.
I've used the heat embossing technique on this card using our SOTM and the Ranger Silver embossing powder with Versa mark ink. And heat embossed the images from the stamp set.
To bring the card to life, I have embellished the card using our Border Scallop punch, Shimmer Trim and our gorgeous Black stripped Twill Ribbon. You might notice that the Shimmer Trim is scalloped and so is the bottom of the black card. I first used our scallop punch to punch a long the bottom of the card. A handy tip when using the punch to ensure you shape comes out even, butt your cardstock up to the edge of the punch and line the corner of the card with the image on the top of the punch, they way you will always start the pattern of correctly. Another HANDY TIP, is use the images on either side of the head of the punch to line your already punched card, remembering to keep the card butted up against the edge and continue on using the shadow guide to line up your card stock.
Finally my 3rd HANDY TIP, is there is a small degree of difficulty using any punch to border punch shimmer trim, so my tip for you all is to turn it over and punch it along on the peel off side of the SHIMMER TRIM. This is handy firstly to ensure a crisp even cut of the punch but also to, stop your punch from becoming blunt sooner.
