By chance, Ming’s mother found an Operation Smile™ flyer advertising the November 2007 mission in Cambodia. Ming and his grandmother traveled five hours in an overcrowded taxi from Odong Mein Chey province to the Khmer-Soviet Hospital in Phnom Penh to be considered for surgery. Before his operation, Ming didn’t want to go to school because the neighborhood children were scared of him and would not let him play with them. Now that his mouth and nose are corrected, Ming looks forward to school. With these amazing results, he is now a lively and confident kid.

Thoroughly enjoying playing with Mixed Media and my close to my heart products.  I make my own stencils by laminating pouches and cutting them out on the Cricut Machine The Close To My Heart Artbooking Cricut cartridge .  is perfect for this and such an affordable way to get a variety of stencils and the cricut Artiste cartridge is awesome to make your chipboard titles with.

To add a variety of colour i use CTMH Reinkers and spray pens and mix my own colours with water.

Firstly, I wanted to share with you all how to make your own Close To My Heart Unique

home made stencils and embellishments.  WE all know how expensive it can be to buy stenicls and embellishments right.  But you probably have all you need at home to make your own.  Whether it be for Scrapbooking, Cardmaking or Mixed Media.  Its so easy, To make stencils all you need is Laminating Pouches, Laminating Machine, Cricut Machine and our fabulous Artbooking Cricut Collection Cartridge.  To make your own embellishments as in the above picture, its easy.  Simply use some grey chipboard, cricut machine and Artbooking Cartridge and cut out your own clocks and cogs in various sizes. In the above pages, i have used them and ctmh burlap ribbon to add some texture to the pages. Also included are some of ctmh assortments such as Yuletide, Sarita, for always and Base N Bling Charms.  In other projects i have also used Artiste and Artphilosphy cartridges to cut out rolled roses and embellished with them in mixed media, scrapbooking and cardmaking as you will see in some of my other projects.

Using an A4 laminating Pouch put it through your hot laminating machine.  Allow the pouch to cool off and adhere it to a New Cricut cutting mat.  Using your Artbooking Cartridge, search the overlay section.  Ive used the brick one this time, but however choose your favourite.  Set your RDS to 11" and set your cutting  Depth 5, Speed 5 and Cutting 2 and then cut.  Wella you have your own stencils and so many styles to choose from to make.

The stencils turns out great and make a great base for your creations.  Try using your stencils with a spray pen or spritzer to create great back grounds on your projects.

HANDY TIPS: 

Tip 1 - Mix CTMH Liquid Glass with one of our Coloured Reinkers and you will

get a nice shiny glossy finish to what you apply it to.

Tip 2 - Use our Spray pens and Reinkers to make your own spritzers.

You get 3 pens for $5.50.

Fill with water to the 2nd top line and then use your colour reinker to fill to the last line.

DOUBLE PAGE MIXED MEDIA SCRAPBOOKING WITH CLOSE TO MY HEART - CTMH CRICUT ARTBOOKING CARTRIDGE COLLECTION

I couldnt be prouder of my son, graduating from University this year, and to honour the occasion I created a double page layout.  Feeding my mixed media scrapbooking addiction, of course i had to make it mixed media.  In both pages i have used the home made brick stencil from the Close To My Heart Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.  IN the top page i only used half of the stencil and in the bottom page, i used the full stencil.  Once the textured paste dried i sprayed both pages with the close to my heart spray pens filled with water and our reinkers.  Todays colour i used Desert Sand.  Fill the spray pen 90% water and 10% in ink colour.  Once the spraying was dry, i used a paint brush and the same ink to touch up some  of the bricks in the first page and i would add a drop of water to the ink each time to get different coloured affects using the same colour ink and just touched it up with the brush.  Even though it is just one colour reinker, I was able to get several different colour shades from the one colour.

Loving working with my mixed media and scrapbooking, i struggled with regular scrapbooking for such a long time and since discovering Mixed Media, I am fastly becoming addicted to mixed media scrapbooking.

I love creating and making my own stencils with My Close To My Heart Artbooking Cricut cartridge it gives me such a variety to choose from to turn overlays into stencils.

Ive been tinkering with mixed media of late and incorporating my Close To My Heart products.

Stencils can be so expensive to buy, So why not make your own ?

Its so easy, I simply laminate a pouch through my laminating machine.  Using my Cricut Expressions Machine,  a new Cricut Mat and My Close To My Heart Artbooking Cricut Cartridge, i cut out the chosen stencil i like from the Overlay section of the cartridge.

Cover your My Crush Book with mod podge (click here free mod podge recipe) and allow it to dry then place your stencil on top and cover with textured paste and either allow to dry or use your heat gun to dry it faster.

TEXTURED PASTE RECIPE:

1/4 Cup Boiling Water

2 Cups of Bi Carb Soda

2 Cups of White Acrylic Paint

1 Cup of Pva Glue

3 Cups of Corn Flour

Next step is to embellish your journal and cover in Gesso

Now lets colour it in, Close To My heart have spray pens

Here is a HANDY TIP - Mix your ctmh reinker with our fabulous LIQUID GLASS and it will give you a wonderful coloured glossy finish on your projects, such as on the lettering of the finished journal.

I have an awesome range of BASE N BLING, charms, pendants and chains.  Why not incorporate them in your Mixed Media, dont just leave them as necklases and bangles, they make great scrapbooking embellishments.
